Health benefits of Peanut Butter for your dog

Peanut Butter can be used as a training aid, to entertain or distract your dog in stressful situations. In moderation peanut butter can be an excellent source of protein, doing wonders for dog's fur. Contains heart-healthy fats, niacin and vitamins A, B and E, which are helpful in boosting the immune system.

However wonderful Peanut Butter is, too much of a good thing can lead to obesity and other health complications like pancreatitis.

To figure out how much peanut butter to feed your dog on a regular basis, call your veterinarian and ask for advice (especially for more sensitive pups), or use 10% rule, which is saying that in general, treats should not make up more than 10% of your dog’s diet.

According to Blue Cross dogs can eat most peanut butter but never give them peanut butter that contains xylitol which is toxic to dogs. Furthermore, dogs who eat special diets, those with kidney problems and overweight ones should avoid it due to the level of fat, and sometime salt contained in peanut butter.

At Goldie Pets Party Bakey & Supply we use only 100% nuts Peanut Butter, made in the UK, so relax and check what is store for you.
